Our funds are top performers!

We are proud to say all three of our funds have been ranked as top performers! JUNO Growth and JUNO Balanced have been ranked as #1, and JUNO Conservative #2 for the last 12 months to 31 March 2020, according to FundSource.2

These results include the market impact from coronavirus during February and March, so this is great news!

*JUNO’s #1 ranked Growth fund return of 10.3% compared to the industry average Growth fund return of -4.06%. Figures are before tax. Based on FundSource figures for the last 12 months to 31 March 2020.  Past performance is not an indicator for future returns.

2 Based on FundSource figures for the 12 months to 31 March 2020. Figures are before tax. Other providers’ figures are after fees, but ours are before, due to our monthly fixed fees. Subtracting our average fee across all members of about 0.40% would not change the Growth and Balanced fund 1st place results for the 12 months to the end of March 2020. Conservative would be in 4th.

Our strategy is active investing

At JUNO, we focus on active management and low fees. Active management means there are investment managers (real humans!) managing your money, and they can help keep your KiwiSaver money safer during volatile times, like during the coronavirus outbreak.

Our active management approach (particularly our active management of cash) has helped JUNO perform well during this period of market upheaval. KiwiSaver is a long-term investment, but regardless, we are still happy with this result!

Why choose active KiwiSaver management?

When it comes to KiwiSaver, there are two types of providers to choose from – active or passive. Active management is where a manager looks closely at investments and makes educated guesses about which will do better than the market. Active management, like at JUNO, means there’s a person behind the decisions made. If the markets are rough, active managers have tools they can use to help protect your balance.

Meanwhile, passive management tracks a major market index as closely as possible, so as an investor you’ll get close to what the market does. No one is trying to beat the market.  An active manager with genuine skill and discipline can help prepare for crises, and have more flexibility to act when needed. At JUNO, we are a skilled and disciplined active manager.
